Located in the heart of Big Sky's Mountain Village, this historic hotel was part of the late NBC News broadcaster Chet Huntley's original vision for Big Sky Resort. The Huntley Lodge sits on the plaza at the base of the mountain, with the Explorer Lift just out the back door. Under the same roof are restaurants, shopping, ski storage, meeting rooms, and the Solace Spa. The Huntley Lodge includes convenient access to an outdoor heated pool, two outdoor hot tubs, and a fitness center.

Located on the north end of the Mountain Village, you can access skiing via secluded trails and bridges. In fact, on your first day of skiing, you can access the White Otter Lift and ski over to the base area to pick up your lift tickets. Just make sure you get exact directions on the best ski route back to your cabin, or you might end up too far down the mountain! Private vehicles are required for this location.

Sophisticated and contemporary, the Swift Bear Lodge is a year-round getaway with spectacular mountain views of Lone Mountain. In winter, this 5 bedroom, 5 bath home is ski accessible with easy access to the White Otter lift. One of the bedrooms is located on the main level, with a king bed and private bath. There are three more bedrooms downstairs, two of which offer king beds and the last of which has a captain’s bunk bed. One of these bedrooms has a private bath, while the others share a hall bath. The fifth bedroom is located above the garage with two sets of twin bunk beds and a private bath. The game room is downstairs and has a pool table and TV/DVD player. The covered deck has a gas grill and private outdoor hot tub; the two-car garage offers boot dryers and ski cubbies for your convenience.

Other nearby activities include fly-fishing and rafting on the Gallatin River, horseback riding, and mountain biking. The west entrance of Yellowstone National Park is a 45-minute drive to the south, most of which is through the scenic northwest corner of the park and Gallatin National Forest.

Ousel Falls is a nearby waterfall with a short hike on a well-maintained park trail. For those looking for more adventure, Beehive Basin is a day hike offering some of the best wildflower viewing in the lower 48 and rewarding hikers with a picturesque alpine lake. Located near the Moonlight Lodge, directly on the groomed run Powder River, the Cowboy Heaven Cabins enjoy beautiful views year-round, and easy ski access to all of Big Sky Resort's terrain in the winter.
