Located in the heart of Big Sky's Mountain Village, this historic hotel was part of the late NBC News broadcaster Chet Huntley's original vision for Big Sky Resort. The Huntley Lodge sits on the plaza at the base of the mountain, with the Explorer Lift just out the back door. Constructed using Western red cedar logs, the 5-bedroom estate offers a feeling of seclusion with sweeping views and a private sledding hill in the backyard. High ceilings with towering beams, floor-to-ceiling windows, multiple private decks and wood-burning fireplaces evoke a classic alpine lodge, while radiant heat, DirecTV and a bubbling hot tub add modern comforts. In the open-concept living area, a wrap-around leather sofa and armchairs frame a two-story, stone fireplace and large-screen TV for cozy nights after a day of mountain adventures. Through an arched log doorway, a formal dining table seats 8 guests for dinner with mountain views. In winter ski-in/ski-out access to White Otter chair lift makes this home super convenient for skiers and boarders.
